Links to other workbooks:created a folder

I have a spreadsheet that is linked to about 15 other s/sheets, each of the files is relevant to one person in the office and people are only allowed to see their own sheet. I have created a folder for each person and put their sheet in that folder and set the permissions up so people can only see what they should be able to see. This bit works fine, the problem is that there is a summary sheet that references all the other sheets and some people need to see that, as this links to all the other sheets i have set the permissions so that anyone who uses the summary can see all the other files. When I open the summary sheet on my machine it works perfectly but when anyone else opens it it can't find the files it references. It looks like when someone else opens it the file paths it tries to use to find the other files are wrong, but when I open it on my machine they are fine.

Interesting problem. When other users access the summary sheet, do ALL of the links fail, or do the links for that particular user work ok and the rest fail?

If the links work for that user, but the other links fail, I am guessing this is what is happening:

It works ok for you on your machine, because you designed all the workbooks, so therefore you have permission to access them all.

Because you have set permissions for other users to access only their own workbook, the summary one will recognise this when another user opens the summary and it establishes the links, so it will not display the links it doesn't have permission for.

Could this be the problem?

All of the links fail, any user that is set up on the summary sheet has permission to access all of the other sheets so I don't think that is the problem.
