Random line showing up on spreadsheet

I have a random line showing up in the middle of my spreadsheet. It's not an object or picture because I can't actually select it. And it's not a border because when I try to remove it, the formatting screen shows no border present. If I try to delete the surrounding rows, it just shifts the line up. It spans several cells but stops in the middle of a cell, so it's definitely not just a border. Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I think this would be easier if you could post the sheet. Make a copy, remove all of your data, and SaveAs, then, in Explorer (My Computer) rightmouse and Add to Archive, as a .zip and post that here.

Here you go. I realize that I could just delete it all the way to the top row and it will go away, but it appears in several documents near the very bottom, so that makes it difficult to do. Also, it doesn't show up in the Print Preview, but it does actually show up on the page when I print.

    Thank you.

OK, go to View > Toolbars > select the "select objects" icon (2nd on toolbar) and create a box around the line, you will see that it is selected by the small round circles, then press delete key. You may have to do this more than once as there may be a number of lines.

Don't forget to deselect the "select objects" icon when you have finished.

That happens when you delect data and in amoungst it all are some lines or boxes, things like that and they all "lie" on top of each other and show as a line.

Anyway glad it's sorted for you

Re: Random line showing up on spreadsheet

    Sample.xlsHi

I know this thread is old but I am having the same issue with a random line on a spreadsheet.

Looks exactly the same as the OP's but I have tried select objects and it does not work.

I have attached a copy of the sheet if anyone can help.
