    removing duplicates

    hi
i have all my music listed as follows, column a:disc code b:track :c song title and d:artist,
if i delete columns a and b i would like to then remove duplicate entries of songs by same artist, is there an easy way of doing this?, seems straightforward but it's stumping me lol,
thanks in advance for any help offered

thanks, but i can't see where it lets u delete duplicate entries, i have 23000+ songs and more than one version of most of them and quite a few same title but by different artist so it will take hrs to manually delete them, or am i missing something,

    fyi

The Data/Sort suggested by Chippy will do the job but then you'll need an entry on every row of the column to state "if this same as above, delete above" in formula mode of course (I'm sure someone will help with that)

I would DEFINITELY suggest you backup this database before you jump into this project - I'd hate for you to lose your file....that's a lot of work you've put into it...

Ok, You basically wanted Unique entries of Song+ Artist?
Am I right ? If yes,

Select those two columns (song , artist)

    Data ->Filter -- Advance Filter

    On tha advance Filter,
    Select "Copy to another location
Provide list range as those two cloumns (For ex $A$1:$B$100)
Criteria Range same as the above
Copy to -- Choose any other two columns (For ex, Col C and Col D)

    Select "Unique records only" check-box

    and Hit OK
You should see the unique values result on Columns C and D..
