Applying function to a column

Put 2.5 in a cell and Copy

then select the range required, and Paste Special, = Multiply

another thought is that you want column B to be 2.5 times what column A is, in which case, in B1 put

=A1*2.5

and formula fill that to the extent of your column A data.
