Auto displaying comments of protected cell

I have a worksheet where I am protecting a number of cells, including the heading rows. However, on the heading rows, there are comments. The heading rows also have autofilter on. If the worksheet is unprotected, the comments automatically show up when I move the cursor over them. When the protection is on, they do not show up. I can right click on the cell and say display comment, but I think that is a pain. I changed the protection to allow editing objects, but then the use can edit and/or delete the comment.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Not sure to understand your question ...
If a cell with a comment is locked, and the worksheet protected, the user can still view comment with his pointer over the cell ...
So what is your problem ... ?

Well, I think my problem has to do with not only having protection on, but also having the auto filter turned on. I performed a test by putting a comment on a cell that didn't have the auto filter on it. When I put my mouse over that cell, it does automatically show the comment. However, when I put it over the cell that has auto filter turned on, the pointer changes to a different pointer (first it was crosshairs, then it turned to a pointing finger) and the comments do not show up. Again, I can right click and show the comments.

So, I guess that is what my problem is.

    Thanks for helping.

You can always insert a row above your headings outside of the AutoFilter range, for your users to get the comments you want them to have ...

So, does that mean that there isn't a way to show them when they are on the headings of auto filtered rows?

I meant an additional row inserted above your headings ...

Thanks Carim. I understood what you meant. I was just wondering if it can be done without creating new rows above the autofilter section. I appreciate your help.

Not in a very simple way ...
One could think of an event macro which would turn on and off the protection on AutoFilter headings to allow comments to be displayed ...
But it seems to me slightly over-complicated, given your project ...
