    linking shared workbooks

    I have three workbooks with similar information. I want to set it up that when I change the info in one it automatically changes in all. Is this possable? Any tips?

    Hi,

    Yes, it is possible and simple ...

    In the destination cell type =
    go to the source cell
    press enter

    That's it ...

    Sorry, umm that not what I ment by that. That's just linking cells I think.

    What I'm talking about is a full on work book linked to another work book.
    Say I entered a value into on excel file and then opened another file with the same type of information in it. i want it all to be updated because the information changes regularly, so instead of changing the information in three different workbooks it changes in all them as one changes.

    you can just copy and paste information to other workbooks.

    or VLOOKUP function might help you but you need to give more details of your data with cell refereces and type of data you enter.

    Yes workbooks can be linked ...

    BUT beforehand you will need to input in each workbook
    "what goes where..."
    it is the linking process ..

    Once you are done with this task,
    then you will have your "workbooks linked" ...
