I attempted to install Excel 2000XP but the system asked for a later O/S.
My next move was to install Excel 97 Viewer , the choice of which is that
I have found a book :Teach yourself Microsoft Excel in 24 hrs.

The problem now is that despite the viewer is installed I can't get it to open as a Set Up window pops up with 2 buttons : top ..Reinstall [that is greyed out] and bottom : "Remove All" with the words : Remove all previously installed components.
Could someone please advise me on how to open the Viewer. Thanks

All you will be able to do with the viewer is open exel files. You wont be able to change anything or enter any data into the sheet. Not sure if that is what you are trying to do. I suggest remove it from your Add/Remove programs section of Control Panel, then try again.
