    Question portrait vs. landscape

    Hello,

I have a strange problem in excel. When I open an excel worksheet (it can be a new one) and I look at the Print Preview, excel refuses to show the landscape preview. Although landscape is checked, excel always gives the print preview in portrait. The only thing I can do is a trick to first scale to 80%, then back to 100% and then it works but after a few changes later, it's back in portrait.

    What I have already checked:
    - clearing the print area
    - checked if there was any vba code => nope
    - default microsoft office settings restored
    - uninstalled pdf maker software with xla plugins

    Any Ideas?

    Many thanks,

    Stef

    Further Brainstorming

    Hi Stef,

I'm sure you've done this; I'm only brainstorming:

    1) From the Print Preview screen, consider clicking on the 'Setup...' button, or alternatively accessing the 'Page Setup...' under 'File' and checking if the Landscape radio button is selected under 'Orientation.'

    2) Another place where one may specify page orientation is reached through File/Page Setup.../Sheet/Options.../Basics/Orientation. I suspect the availability of this option is contingent on the specified printer.

    3) Recording a print macro with a specified page orientation may also help.

    HTH,

    Alex

Forgot to mention that I also tried a repair, but no solution

    Alex,

thanks for your reply. Step 1 and 2 have I checked. The third option could be maybe a solution. I will test it tomorrow and let you know something.

First checked if the printpreview worked with VBA => No, printpreview always in portrait.

Yesterday, I had told the user to delete the network printer and reinstall it. He said that the problem wasn't solved by reinstalling the printer but today I deleted the printer and reinstalled it and the problems were gone. Problem solved by reinstalling the printer. Never trust on other persons than yourself

    Thanks for helping.

    Stef
