Can not REPLACE number (formula) in a cell

    Please help, I've tried everything!
I have this number (formula) 4.61E+209 in a number of cells within a column that supposed to be a "text" column.
I've tried "unlocking", changing to "text", cutting and pasting, finding and replacing with no success.
The find and replace tells me "cannot be found".
Even when I managed to change the column to "text" and manually pasted the correct number, after I saved and reopened the file, it opened up with the OLD number (formula) above! How could that be?
All I want to do is replace every occurrence of 4.61E+209 with 46121E205 within cells in a column.
    Thanks for your help,
    fw

You should be able to Copy a cell, and use this in the 'Find' of a Replace, with 46121E205 as the 'with'.

If not, try changing to $$e$$, and then change all $$e$$ to 46121E205

    Didn't work

When trying find replace, get message "Excel cannot find the matching data to replace"
Then when I replaced the 4.61E+209 with $$e$$, I actually was able to use find-replace, BUT when I clicked replace, guess what reappeared in the cells that had the $$e$$, you guessed it! The dreaded 4.61E+209
    I am at a loss.
    Any other ideas anyone?
    Thanks,
    fw

Ok, after many tries, I've been able to format the cells into Text and am manually copying and pasting 46121E205 into all cells containing the 4.61E+209. I have saved a small sample and reopened the corrected file and it did not change back into original number.
My NEW question is, when I highlight the cell I want to copy and drag the little lower right corner "thing", instead of copying the original cell, I get incrimental numbers.
For example, 46121E205, would be 46121E206 in the next row cell, and ...207, in the one after that etc.
Where is that coming from, any idea?
    Thanks,
    fw
