to display only the value of a cell

I am sending out a spreadsheet to a number of institutions. Many of the cells contain references to other workbooks stored on my computer. When they are sent to the institutions, these references will no longer be valid (or will they?). So I'd like to modify the spreadsheet to only display the values of the cells, not the references. For instance, "=SUM([aggregate.xlsA9:A14)" which computes "1,050,000", will only read "1,050,000".

    any ideas?

    Hello,

You first select the range of cells you want to be 'permanent'.

    Next, hit Crtl+C, or copy.

Than, instead of Crtl+V, or paste, right click your mouse over the selection.

In the menu that pops up, select 'Paste Special'.

    Select 'Values', and hit ok.

There you have it. Just be warned that you cannot get your formulas back. I would create a backup before conducting this. Good Luck.
