Cool entering 1 number automatically moves over one cell to the right

I play a Golf Game on XBox 360 with a buddy. I have a spreadsheet set up to enter in the score on each hole, but want to avoid having to press tab after putting each stroke in.

Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

Go to Options->Edit and in "Move selection after enter" change the direction to Right.

    Unhappy

    JazBeth,

Thanks, but that still requires me to push a button after entering just 1 number in.

    For example,

I want to press the 3 key on the keyboard and have the cursor automatically move to the right without me pressing anything else.

There must be a way of telling a certain cell that only 1 character is allowed.

    Duugg,
I am not sure if there is anything like that, at least in my knowledge.
Perhaps someone else can look inot it.
    Thanks

You would need to setup a UserForm to detect KeyPress, or just keep pressing Enter. Note, if you use the Numeric keypad the Enter key is within range.

So what happens if you have a shocker and score 10?

    lol to the "shocker" comment.

I did think about that and thought that I would take the "formula" out of the cell, should that happen. Let's hope I don't score a 10!

I'm using a laptop, so the enter button is not convenient. There must be a way to tell Excel that "A1" for example should only have 1 character in there.

Think of it like a text form field in Word where you can select the options including limiting the number of characters. Hey, this just led me to another thought, what about creating a form in Word to input the scores and then update the data in Excel automatically?

Note that I'd still rather do this just in Excel.
