Removing unwanted, unknown character?

I'm sure a few of you have come across this before. I have a character throughout my imported excel sheet that appears as a little square box. It causes a return that completely ruins my file. Is there any way to find and replace this character?

Try using the CLEAN function.

Go to a blank sheet. In cell A1 enter "=clean(" then point to cell A1 in the main sheet, then enter ")" . copy the formula and make sure it does what you want. Then Edit\copy the lot, and edit\paste special\values
