I have inserted an excel worksheet as an object into my current worksheet and have selected the link to file box.

However, when I add a row of data to the original worksheet (by double clicking on the inserted object) my inserted object doesn't reflect the new changes until I reopen and close the original worksheet again. (by double clicking on the inserted object again)

Basically, how can I get the inserted object to update when I close the original worksheet. If I make changes to the existing rows in the original worksheet then they are updated, but whenever I add a new row I have to close the worksheet, open it again, and then close it again.

Many thanks for your time.

Hi Chard,

Another way of doing this, rather than inserting as an object, use the camera tool.

Go to View > Toolbars > Customise click the Commands tab and pick Tools, scroll down and drag the camera off and drop it on to one of the toolbars.

Now select the area of spreadsheet with your data. Click the camera, this will take an image and then click on the next sheet. You now have a picture of your data, if you change it in any way the picture is updated imediately.

Just thought this may help??
