euro symbol loses formatting if bold

Excel 2002. If I use arial font, the euro symbol shows up as a square if I
make the cell bold. I need it to be bold, so please don't go there. Why is
    this happening?

    Hi cadiehu,

This sounds like your printer driver is causing the problem

It happens on the screen also... without printing it.
