I need to set up a colum with sequential numbers ie 1001, 1002, 1003 and so
on I need to do it on Excel but cant find how on the help, im using Office

hi,
enter your first number where you want it then high light the column you
want it in. click edit>fill>series. follow the instructions.

Thank you, I did as you said but got only the number I entered tried several
times but ended with the same result

Try this
Enter 1001 in A1
Right-click on the bottom right corner of A1 and drag down a ways until you
reach "so on"
Let go the mouse button and select "Fill Series" from the options.

What did you have as the "step value" in the Edit/ Fill Series dialogue box?
Are you sure you didn't do Edit/ Fill DOWN, rather than Edit/ Fill SERIES?
