need to upload copied excel files to admin page on website

I have copied files from a secure website that I wish to upload to a
published website. I have downloaded the files to excel but now I wish to
upload these files to a designated website. I thought I had done it properly
but it is not coming up as having made the journey.

The ISP or webmaster might have restrictions on what files can be
uploaded; otherwise, an FTP program in itself would not prevent
Excel files from being uploaded.

For instance trying to find restrictions for Geocities, I found someone else's
and for instance it did not include .xls and it look like that one doesn't allow
zip files either, which is often done to greatly reduce file size and upload a
file that can be downloaded and unzipped. .
The file types we currently support are:
.pdf | .js | .swf | .gif | .jpeg | .jpg | .jpe | .png | .css | .html | .htm | .shtml | .asc | .txt.
