The use of AI tools (e.g. chatGPT, BARD, GPT4 etc) to create forum answers is not permitted. If a user is believed to have used such tools to provide a forum answer, sanctions may be imposed.
HOW TO ATTACH YOUR SAMPLE WORKBOOK:Unregistered, Fast answers need clear examples. Post a small Excel sheet (not a picture) showing realistic & representative sample data WITHOUT confidential information (10-20 rows, not thousands...) and some manually calculated results. excel hangs when pasting into field?

Hi All: Microsoft Excel 2003 (11.6560.6568) SP2 on XP sp2.

Recently, Excel hangs for about 5-10 seconds when I try to paste text into
any type of field...general, text, number, etc. I'm just copying text off an
HTML page in IE6 and pasting it into a cell in Excel. I had done this
numerous times in the past, but it's only started to hang recently.

I've tried twiddling the settings for "calculation" "Edit" "general" etc,
turning off autospell, autocomplete, external links, etc., but it still
hangs for a number of seconds before the text appears in the cell.

Has anyone seen that before?
