How do you adjust the maximum characters in a excel header?

How do you adjust the maximum characters in a excel header? I'm trying to
create a custom header and it is stating the maximum characters is 255. Is
there a way I can adjust this without making the font smaller?

Assuming you mean a header from headers and footers for printing.............

You cannot increase the 255 char limit and I don't believe you can increase that
even by changing to a smaller font.
