    Why is Word, Excel saving a backup copy in my temp directory?

    Excel and Word are filling up my temp directory with copies of saved
    worksheets and
    documents.?

    This isn't usual behavior for Excel (and I don't think that MSWord usually works
    this way, either).

    I'd bet that you have some helpful macro that's making copies of the workbooks
    (and documents???).

    You may be able to isolate the helpful excel macro by using some of the
    techniques here:
