Pivot Chart On Web Not Auto-Republising on Save

I have an excel spreadsheet from which I published a Pivot chart to the web.
The Pivot chart was based on data from an external (Access) database. I set
it to Autopublish on every Save.

I uploaded the excel file to a Sharepoint server. Now when I go in and open
the Excel chart and refresh the data, then save the file, it doesn't
re-publish with the new data. help!

Did you upload the excel file to the server before you made the chart or after?

If the data is based on the Access data then the links would be from where
you first made the chart. Updating to a different location means that the
links may no longer be working or they are pointing somewhere else.

You will have to reset or redo at the new location ....

RE: Pivot Chart On Web Not Auto-Republising on Save

I did do it again, making sure I didn't do the query or chart until I'd
uploaded the file to Sharepoint, and still had the problem. What I found
though was that if I open the Excel file while on the Sharepoint site from
the document library, and then save it, it asks me for a file name. I enter
the same file name and it goes ahead and saves, but does not republish the
chart. However, if I open the file directly from the path (say from the Excel
recent files list under File) without opening Sharepoint at all, then do the
edit and save, it does republish very nicely. So it seems it has something to
do with the interaction of the Sharepoint document library save process and
    Excel.
