Changing digits in a cell HELP

[Hemming]

I have a spreadsheet that has a column listing telephone numbers. These numbers need to change. I need to know how to create a macro or formula to make this happen. Example: (currently in the column) 5555555555, I need to change the area code and 3 didit exchange to a new number ( the area code and exchange will be the same for all the numbers in the column) (444)444-5555. the only part of the number that will stay the same is the last 4 digits
