Reference Number

I have a database which I have a reference number field. Is there any way
that I can make the number start at 1 at the begging of each year.

Probably, but we need to know a little more about your Reference Number
Field, which column is it and how the numbers are created...........and if
you have a Date Column with sequential dates..................
