    combining numbers

I have a list of over 100 different amounts. I need to identify the amounts
that add up to a specific total when they are not sequential in order in the
    list. Can I do this?

If you do a Google Group search
    (http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search) with this:

    add up amount group:*Excel* author:grove

You get access to a comprehensive discussion about this subject. And to
solutions which range from using standard Excel functionality (Solver) to
    very sophisticated software.

    Re: combining numbers

I found the answer using a Solver process found on this site. Thank you so
much for your assistance. It saved me two days work at least.

My thanks again to Niek Otten and to Peo Sjoblom who proposed the solution.
