I am Subtotaling in Excel 2003 and the results are not even close anyone
having any issues besides me. My test file is only 35 lines long and 6
columns wide.

Do you have the latest patch, there was a bug in subtotal in SR1

Maybe...
Multilevel subtotals are in the wrong position in Excel 2002 and in Excel 2003

I have been battling this issue for over a month and a half now. I installed
the hotfix and made registry changes but nothing works. If I subtotal on
over 12 columns, the Total lines are out of order. Dealing with Microsoft
overseas support on this has been EXTREMELY frustrating. They keep dodging
my emails and changing my contact person to yet another person who then makes
me restate the problem and offers me the same solutions over and over again,
then say they need more time and will call me back and then someone else
calls me back and the cycle goes on and on... seems like a waste of $35 for
support... I've comunicated with at least seven different representatives in
Bombay...They refuse to connect me to U.S. support.

Hi
This all sounds very frustrating, and I have not seen the problem myself.
Without trying to "teach my grannie to suck eggs", it does say on the MS
support site that after fixing the registry value, you need to Delete the
subtotals and re-create them all over again for it to take effect.
If you want to send me a copy of the file, I would be happy to see if I get
the same problem. To send direct, remove NOSPAM from my email address.

I changed the registry and this solution worked
