macro to unmerge columns

A recorded macro for unmergin 2 merged columns in a worksheet doesnot work.
It tries to merge the cells again and as a result wipes out the data.

Show us the code.

I dont have the code available right now(at home) but the code in the
recorded macro had a"merge" command in it. I changed the code to select the
columns and did an "unmerge" and it worked correctly. If I go thru the same
steps without recording the macro..the columns/cells are unmerged correctly.
