going to hyperlink closes workbook

Can someone help with this problem? When I click on weblink in excel, I go
to the website, but the workbook closes. This does not happen if I have
unsaved changes in the workbook.

I believe that this was a bug in xl97--are you using xl97?

If I recall correctly, the workaround was to change a cell (to make excel think
the workbook is dirty).

(or upgrade???)
