Using Multilpe Lists in Excel 2000

I have a client who wants to be able to pick an item from one list and then,
based on that result, have a second list become available in an adjacent
cell. For example, if the colours "red, green and blue" are in the first
list in cell C5, when selecting "red", a list containing "bunny, dog and cat
should" appear in cell D5. If the colour "green" was selected in cell C5
then a different list, e.g.; "elephant, giraffe, lion" would appear for use
in cell D5, and so on.

Is this possible and if so, how would one accomplish it.

    Thank you,

You could use a couple of cells with data|validation and a couple of range
    names.

    Debra Dalgleish explains it:

Debra Dalgleish's site explains what you need to know:

    Does that help?
