How do I convert a word document into a Excel document

I've created a Word Document that I would like to convert to an Excel
worksheet. Is there any simple way to do such a thing?

That depends on the layout. If you used tables in Word, click inside the
table and hit Table-->Select-->Table, copy it, and paste it into Excel.
