    Unexplained Line on worksheet

I have a file that has colored lines that I did not add nor do I want as part of the file.

At first I thought they were graphics that could be removed - not true.

If I delete the line on which they seem to be attached, they attach to the line above.

They look like a cell border, but there are no borders on any of the cells in question and it appears to start in the middle of a cell.

When it runs through a chart, if you click on the chart to make any edits, it come to the foreground and covers the line. But the second you are done with the chart, the line is once again in the foreground.

I inherited this file and need to get this cleaned up. Any ideas? I've attached just a sample so you can see what I mean. The mystery line appreas on row 9.

    Thanks,

    Lisa

It may be a squished combo box or text box from the control toolbox:
    Choose View>Toolsbars>Control toolbox
    Click the Design mode button
Point to one of the lines
If the pointer changes to a four-headed arrow, click on the line
    to select it
Press the delete key, to delete the line

Click the Exit Design Mode button
    Close the Control toolbox.

    Hi Debra,

I tried that. It isn't one.

The line is quite funny, it starts some where between the the columns, lying
on the row edge. The onll way I managed to remove it was by deleting all the
    rows above it.
