HOW do i make a box change colour when i type in a word, like yes so it
goes green?????

You can use Format>Conditional Formatting to colour a cell. There are

Hello kayleigh
I take it when you write "box" you actually mean "cell"?
If that is so:
Format, conditionnal formatting
Cell value is
equal to
"yes"
Format button
choose relevant colour format (background)
Validate with OK
