countif cells only with results

Good day.
I'm hoping someone can help me with this simple problem. I have a column with about 50 rows, each cell reffers to a another worksheet in the same workbook. i would like to use countif to only count the amount of cells that have results in them.

What do you consider a "result"?
Text with more than 2 characters? Numbers greater than zero? Something else?

each cell points to a cell on a different sheet, example "='20 Sept'!M30", with this cell containing a sumif. If any work gets done on that sheet it will show a numerical result like 54 956.00. hope this helps.

Perhaps something like this:
=COUNTIF(A2:A51,">0")

Is that something you can work with?
