auto save excel file every 10 minutes to its original file name

How can I automatically save Excel Workbooks every few minutes to the file
name as I could with Office 2000?

xl2k (and below) come with an autosave.xla addin.

Look under Tools|Addins for autosave. If you don't see it there, you'll have to
install it from the distribution CD. After it's installed, you can turn it on
    via tools|Addins.

There's an option under tools (if I recall correctly) that lets you change the
interval (after it's installed and turned on).

As an alternative, you may want to consider using Jan Karel Pieterse's addin
    called AutoSafe (note spelling).

It doesn't overwrite the existing workbook when it saves. It saves to a user
selectable folder. And when it's done, it either deletes these backups (or puts
them in the recycle bin). And the user can always restore the backups from the
    recycle bin.

(look for AutoSafe.zip, not autosafeVBE.zip, for your purposes.)

Jan Karel's version will know if there was a crash and prompt you to open the
    last version it saved.

I think you'll find that autorecovery was added in xl2002.
