Finding duplicate entries within a column

Hi,

I am trying to find formula that would help me find the duplicate entries within a column. I am looking for the 1st entry to be tagged as "Unique" and any subsequent duplicated entries as"Duplicate".

A Unique
B Unique
C Unique
B Duplicate
D Unique
E Unique
A Duplicate

Assuming your original list if items is in column A starting in row 1

In B2 type: =IF(COUNTIF(A$1:A2,A2)>1,"Duplicate","Unique")

Copy this formula down as far as you need
