External data limitation

I apologize for the duplicate post!

We are having trouble downloading 80 fields from a DateTel database into
Excel, and consistently get errors until we drop the fields down to around
60. Is there
a limitation to the number of fields that may be imported into Excel??

Yes there is but it is way more than 80 ....

Unless you are using a trial copy?

Thanks in advance!
No, we are not using a trial copy. Is there a limitation on the size of the
file being downloaded, rather than a limitation on the number of columns?
Where would I go to find this info.

I have never had a problem witr the file size. I am sure you can find
something in the Excel section at MS
