    FILL IN BLANK CELLS

    Hi All:

Now I have another question: how to fill in the bank cells. I have a file
    like:

    A B C
    Jame ACC 122
    ACC 111
    ACC 333
    Tom BUS 122
    BUS 111
    BUS 104
    Lisa OFF 201
    OFF 222
    OFF 301

I need to fill in the bank cells in column A as shown in the first row.
Such as the cells in column A after Jame should be filled with "Jame", and
cells in column A after Tom should be filled with "Tom", and so on.

Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Charles

    RE: FILL IN BLANK CELLS

    3 steps:
    -Select blank cells
    -Enter formulas in them
    -Change the formulas to values

    Step 1:
Select the range of cells to contain the names (A1:A9 in your example)
    Edit>GoTo>
Click the [Special...] button and select Blanks....Click OK.

    Step 2:
Then, type an = sign, press the up arrow one time
Hold down the [Ctrl] key and press [Enter]

    Step 3:
    Select A1:A9
    Edit>Copy
    Edit>Paste Special>Values...click OK

    Does that help?
