    Preserve Formatting

Thanks in advance is there any way to preserve formating when
    concantenating strings for example

    example one

"example" would be aerial font and "one" would be times new roman font,
    italic bold for instance

If it is not possible with a formula what about a worksheet function or
    a macro

    Cheers
    David

    Re: Preserve Formatting

    Hi David (Fielding),
I don't think so, but you can try searching newsgroups:

Coloring Capital Letters within a cell, posting by Mike Currie, 2002-12-19,
    http://groups.google.com/groups?thre...0@TK2MSFTNGP12
in excel.misc, colors capitals Red [3], non-capitals as black [lowercase and digits with 1] and error cells with Teal [14] using a
Change Event macro, I included a comparable ColorCapsCatchUp macro for use on existing cells prior to installing the Change Event
macro. You can search Google Groups for the string Characters(Start:= for additional examples of formatting or coloring
    parts of text strings.

But the you would have to find something that determines the color of each character,
so if it can be done with a macro under specific circumstances -- known
input and output cells you still have to indentify the color of each character
of your input and I don't recall any posting to that effect.

    Re: Preserve Formatting

    Hi David,
How did you manage to concatenate and preserve two different
fonts using a (builtin) worksheet function. i.e. Arial in from one cell
and Times New Roman bold italic from another cell.

Can you please tell use exactly what you did.

    Hi David,
can you be very specific about what you did for the formatting.

I rarely reply from Google Groups, so I don't know how the
Google interface goes for reading Microsoft newsgroups without
    doing a search.

You can search on your name by using your email address
