Sequential numbering for visible cells

All,

I am using one data base wherin I have to hide specific rows and then number the visible rows in sequence i.e.1,2,3,4,... till end of data. Would appreeciate if help can be extended.

Skaura,

In your numbering column, use a formula like

=SUBTOTAL(2,$A$2:A2)

and copy down to match your table. When the filter is applied, the numbers
in that column will update to reflect the changes.
