Excel 2007 : Custom Ribbon Won't Open In All Workbooks

Hello people!

I have an Access 2007 database that creates and Excel 2007 file (xlsm), but when this file is opened, the custom ribbon doesn't show. It does show on other Excel workbooks that are not Access created.
Can anyone tell me how to force my custom ribbon (Add In) to show?

Is this a Custom Ribbon associated with rhe new workbook, or an addin that already exists?

ribbon customization will only display when the workbook is active, unless the workbook is an addin or you are using a custom namespace and idQ naming of your controls.

Is the ribbon xml correct?

Hi - The ribbon is an add in and shows for any files that I create in 2007, and also files that have previously been created in 2003. But it doesn't show for files that are exported from Access.

I can not replicate this.

If I export an access table to excel file and open it all my addins that customize the ribbon remain present.

Can you post example access export file that removes ribbon customization.

Hi – Sorry it took so long to respond. Been very busy.
I've realised what the problem is. Its when Excel doesn’t exit fully. If I go to Task Manager when Excel is closed, it’s still showing as a process. If I kill the process and reopen Excel, my custom Ribbon works again. So I will have to find a way to make sure Access kills the Excel process properly.
