One way:
=INDEX(Sheet2!B1:B10,MATCH(TRUE,EXACT(A1,Sheet2!A1:A10),0))
This is an array formula. Hit ctrl-shift-enter instead of enter. If you do it
correctly, excel will wrap curly brackets {} around your formula. (don't type
them yourself.)
My table was in Sheet2!A1:A10.
My value to look up was in A1 (of sheet1).
You can extend the range, but don't use the whole column.
