Help me out here because i'm stumped.

My friend got this spreadsheet from China. it's 2.7 megs large! it's nothing complicated, just 100 rows and 12 columns of data. limited formula and all. i copied and pasted the spreadsheet (formula and number format) into a new spreadsheet and it's now down to 38K!!! what could fill up the almost 2.4 megs of nonsense?

visually, it's different though. i didn't do the bold or underline when i copied and pasted it. i altered the visual aspect of the spreadsheet afterwards and it didn't increase the file size much at all.

could it be a language conversion issue? the way china inputs english data into the cells uses more memory or space? thanks!! i'm stumped here.
