    question on embedding objects

I have to embed a couple of wordpad objects into my workbook.

My question is... instead of an icon can I get a hyperlink which will bring up the object? Or is tehre a way to work around this?

When you say "bring up the object", do you mean to open the object in it's normal venue (i.e. open wordpad to open a text document)?
This is fairly simple. In a cell, make a text entry that refers to the desired document (e.g. "Daily Report"). Right click on this entry and choose Hyperlink...

Select Link To: Existing File or Web Page. In the Address box, enter the address of the file (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\Daily Report.txt) or use the Look In: to browse to the file...

This link, when clicked will open the designated file in it's appropriate program.

Or do you want a link that will imbed the object? This will require extensive VBA coding.

I was actually looking for the harder of the 2, a link that would open an imbedded object. I have embedded objects in the file all ready and they are shown as a icon. What I want is just a link to open the embedded file. Any suggestions woudl help. Thanks
