stop automatically making email address

I am going to KILL excel. How do you stop it from automatically convertine
email addresses into hyperlinks??

In Excel 2002: Tools> AutoCorrect Options > Autoformat As You Type. Then
uncheck Internet and Network Paths with Hyperlinks.
