    Odd Behaviour

    Hi Guys,

I have a csv file and I copy some numeric values from this file.
When I paste them into an xls file and perform an autosum function on them it does not calculate. But if I delete a number in a cell and then re-enter a number the autosum works fine. I have tried various cell formating but nothing works. I have to manually enter the figures and all is OK.
    What is going wrong here?

If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Steve Wilson.

Gee, I don't know, but let me try:
    - Maybe dots and commas are interchanged due to use of different languages?
    - Maybe there are spaces in the cells somewhere making excel think the cells do not contain numbers but strings?
