Copy Cell Formatting Between Worksheets

I need to be able to link one worksheet with cells in another, including cell formatting (background color). I use past special link, and I get the contents but none of the cell formatting comes over. can you do this?

Hi Wayne,
As far as I know it is not possible to link formatting.

Obviously you can paste the link for the data and then paste the formats but whilst the data will change the formats will not.

looking for code suggestions to cause a spreadsheet that gets info from another spreadsheet to loop thru a range and update the cell background color bassed on the content.I already have the code to do the color change, just need help with how to trigger on update and loop thru range. thanks!!
