Help with a simple formula

I am a newbie and I am trying to multiply each row in column A by column B
I think the formulas should look like: =A1*B1 (for the first row), =A2*B2 (for the second), and so on.

How do I make the formula for every row, short of typing each row's formula individually?

You now have several different ways to copy the formula to different cells

Method 1
in cell C1 type in your formula =A1*B2

Copy Cell C1, Move to Cell C2 & paste. This paste formula A=A2*B2

You can also select multiple cells and paste formula into them all at the same time

Method 2
in cell C1 type in your formula =A1*B2
With cell C1 selected you will see a small square at the bottom left corner of the cell. Run mouse pointer over this square - pointer will change to a + , Press left mouse button, Whilst holding down mouse button drag mouse down over other cells. Your formula will be copied.

More Info

If you place a $ ymbol infron of a Row or Column letter/number this reference will not change when you copy the formula.

eg

=$A$1*b2

The A1 part of the formula will not change

=$A1*B2

The column A WILL NOT Change but the row number will change

Use the methods given by Mudraker but in the second one, where he said you'll see a small square at the bottom left corner of the cell it's actually at the bottom right corner.
