Error message saving all excel files to network share

    Hello,

Every time we open a file from our network share and then try to save it we
get the messsage "The file filename.xls may have been changed by another user
since you last saved it. In that case, what do you". We are then asked to
"Save a copy" or "Overwrite changes". This message occurs even if no changes
have been made to the document.

Any ideas what is going on here?

    Thanks,

    Glynn

Have a look at this KB Article

"The file may have been changed..." error when you save workÂ*book to network
    server in Excel 2002

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=324491

Myrna Larson also reported that she got this error when openÂ*ing a workspace
    (*.xlw) file.

Opening the workbooks individually solved the problem.
