Hello,
Running Excel 2000, on Windows XP.
I am trying to save a large medical database to a text document using Save As...
It's a fairly large db with 16 cols and over 3000 rows. The trouble I am having is that whenever I choose File->Save As... and save it as a text (tab delimited) (*.txt) file, it converts the text fine with one small re-occuring error.
Some of the information in one specific column is surrounded by inverted commas.
For example:
Description (title of column)
blah blah
blah blah blah
"blah blah "
blah blah
blah
"blah "
blah blah blah blah blah blah
And so on...
I cannot figure out why this is happening. There are no inverted commas in the cells in the excel (*.xls) workbook, yet they 'appear' in the 'saved' text file.
As far as I can see (from checking cell format), the format of each cell in the problem column is the same.
There isn't anything to suggest it is a problem with the length of the cells, as some of the cells with the inverted commas have only one or two words in them whilst others have long sentences.
I am having trouble finding any kind of help on this.![]()
Any help is appreciated!

PS Sorry I cannot paste a more accurate example of the problem. The information I am having trouble with contains sensitive information of which I cannot post an example of here. :-/
