how can i multiply a number in each cell?

i have a huge excell spreadsheet with numbers in many cells. on all of these
cells i simply need to change that number to what works out to times 2.7 of
the current number. for example, one cell is 400. i need to make that 1080.
    400 x 2.7 = 1080.
can anyone help? thx in advance!

    Hi Jay

(please try this on a copy of your workbook first)

type 2.7 into an unused cell somewhere and copy it
then select the cells you want to change
and then choose edit / paste special - multiply
    click OK

    Cheers
