Please help!!! This is hard to explain!

I need the ranges to go from $250 to $2800 in increments of $25
The formula needs to be from $250-$2800

Examples:
If A1 was $22.50 A2 would be $25
If A1 was $1525.01 than A2 would be 1550

I need to create something that will give me the following ranges:

Ranges:
$250-275 will go to 275
$275.01-300 will go to300
$300.01-325 will go to325

So if the formula read something like =IF(A1=<250,"$ amount to low")IF(A1=*more than 250 but less than or equal to 275 than 275*) IF(A1=*more than 275 but less than or equal to 300 than 300*)

Should I create another worksheet to write the formula to than reference it to sheet 1?
I know almost nothing about excel 2002 so please be easy on me

Robert,

You want the =ceiling() function.

If the data is in cell A1, then your function in A2 would be

=ceiling(A2,25)

If you want the values outside your bounds to go to the bounds then you would have:

=if(A2<250,250,if(A2>2800,2800,ceiling(A2,25))
