how to undo saved file in excel

One of my co-worker just saved a blank worksheet after a one day worth of
work in excel spreadsheet. Is there any one can undo the saved file?

Not unless you have a saved backup copy

As you just learned, you should not do a day's work without saving the
file once in a while. You can also setup Excel to automatically save the
file every so many minutes. HTH Otto

    Otto and Sheila

Incremental AutoSaves went out when XL 2002 was introduced.

The AutoRecovery with Excel 2002 and 2003 would not have prevented the loss in
this case because the file was saved and no abnormal shutdown occurred.

If running 2002 or 2003, here is my standard post..............

There is no Autosave in XL2002 and 2003 as there was in earlier versions.

Autorecovery from Tools>Options>Save is it. This is not the same as Autosave
which made true incremental saves at intervals.

Autorecovery just saves a temporary file which it deletes if Excel closes
    normally without incident.

BTW.....Dave Peterson reports that he tried an earlier version of Autosave.xla
in XL2002 and it seemed to work fine.

I have also tried the Autosave.XLA from XL97 and does the job.

To download the 97 version go here.....

In addition to the above......Jan Karel Pieterse has an addin called AutoSafe

It doesn't overwrite the existing workbook when it saves. It saves to a user
selectable folder. And when it's done, it either deletes these backups (or
puts them in the recycle bin). And the user can always restore the backups
    from the recycle bin.

    (look for AutoSafe.zip)

Thanks for that correction. I was not aware that feature was no longer
    available. Otto

Gord, thank you for your comments & tip regarding addins, I will joint your
comments in my troubleshooting notes. Also, Otto, thank you for comments
regarding Saving Files; <Save & Backup> is something I preach everyday at
the office; but of course, co-workers are expecting me to work miracles
    when they run into trouble.
